New Hispanic Network Launches in 28 Million Homes

NEW YORK, March 6: V-me, the Spanish-language television
network presented by public television stations across the U.S., launched
yesterday in 28 million homes featuring content from, among others, Scripps
Networks and HIT Entertainment.

Headlining V-me's prime-time schedule is the network's
flagship original program, Viva Voz, a
nightly interview program. The remainder of the schedule is organized into
kids, lifestyle, factual, and movies and specials.

On the kids’ end, V-me will deliver 36 hours of children’s
content per week. "At a time where there is so much concern about the
quantity and quality of children's television in mainstream Spanish media, V-me
is proud to be the first national network devoting its entire kids’ programming
offer to world-class educational preschool content," said Guillermo
Sierra, the SVP and chief content officer for V-me.
Content has been
sourced from HIT Entertainment, Alliance Atlantis, Sesame Workshop,
Thirteen/WNET New York and Cromosoma, with titles including Lunar Jim, Las Tres Mellizas Bebes/The Baby Triplets, Los Pies Magicos de Franny/Franny's Feet and Plaza Sesamo.

V-me Lifestyle, in the early mornings, afternoons and
weekends, delivers content relating to health, parenting, nutrition, travel,
food, home, design, self-improvement, sports and more. Featured programs
include: Aire Yoga, an original series; Los
Niños en su Casa
from KCET Los Angeles; and
Una Mirada A/Visions
of…
, an HD travel series.

The V-me Factual & Current Affairs lineup in prime time
covers titles like Creencias, La
Plaza: Conversaciones con Maria Hinojosa

and offerings from BBC Worldwide, National Geographic and Thirteen/WNET New
York.

The movies and specials slate, meanwhile, includes the
nightly V-me en Pantalla block, as well
as weekly entertainment specials.
