Presales for The BRIT Awards

LONDON: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has sold the two-hour annual The BRIT Awards to a number of territories ahead of its launch at next week’s NATPE.

With a month to go before The BRIT Awards air in the U.K., the musical event has already had more than 15 territories renew their rights. These include Australia’s XYZ, Japan’s WHD, Sweden’s Kanal 5, Denmark’s TV2, South Africa’s M-Net and Turner in Latin America. This year’s event will not only honor musical talent, but will also feature a strong lineup of performances, including U2 showcasing their brand-new single exclusively at the awards. The BRIT Awards will take place on February 18 at London’s Earls Court in front of a live audience.

David Ellender, FME’s CEO said, "With a lineup like this, the 2009 show will be absolutely spectacular. We know that 2008 delighted audiences and we’re looking forward to delivering a really special program of the highest caliber U.K. and international musical talent to our partners around the world."
