Playhouse Disney UK Picks Up Claude

LONDON, August 1:
Playhouse Disney in the U.K. has acquired the new British preschool animation
series Claude, which is
scheduled to air later this year.

The 52 ten-minute episodes
of Claude are based on David
Wojtowycz’s award-winning illustrated books and tell the story of a little
polar bear who moves from his home in the Arctic to a big city.

Claude has also been sold to ZDF in Germany with
worldwide distribution rights being handled by ZDF Enterprises. The series is
being produced by U.K. production companies Dot To Dot and Red and Blue
Productions.

Jonathan Boseley, the VP
programming for Playhouse Disney UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching
Claude
…and we’re sure it will
delight preschoolers and their parents. Following the channel’s continued
success we’re looking to expand our U.K. acquisitions with hit shows like Claude that engage and inspire preschoolers with great
storytelling and characters.”
