PBF International to Create Footwear for Pucca

LONDON/AMSTERDAM, August
28: Scotland-based PBF International has secured from Jetix Consumer Products
(JCP) the Italian and U.K. license for a new range of indoor and outdoor
footwear for the animated series Pucca.

As a new Pucca licensee, PBF International will concentrate on
developing and producing a range of footwear, trainers, rain boots, slippers
and flip-flops for the U.K. and Italian markets. The first products will be
available in early 2009.

Pucca originated as the star of an animated online
e-card service created by Korean company VOOZ in 2000. It later became a
licensing and TV hit. JCP has held licensing rights for Pucca for Europe and the Middle East since 2003 and has
already secured more than 80 licensees. The second season, commissioned by
Jetix Europe, is currently rolling out on the network across the region.

Richard Woolf, the
director of international licensing for JCP, said: “We are really happy to have
secured PBF International as the latest licensee for Pucca. They have been working with many high-profile
brands and we believe their expertise will help to develop another successful
product range for this funky lifestyle brand.”

Lee Mackie, the brand
manager for PBF International, added: “PBF International are delighted to
welcome Pucca to our current
portfolio of iconic brands. We have
a passion for high-quality, design-led footwear and surround ourselves with
people who are passionate about
our brands. We believe that with
Pucca’s unique and quirky personality we will maximize the potential of this already well-loved
character.”
