Israeli pop star Noa Kirel and Argentinean actor/pop singer Agustin Bernasconi lead the cast of a new romantic-comedy series, NOA, which is a global co-production.

Yair Dori, Darío Werthein, FAM Contenidos (Argentina) and Sipur (Israel) have teamed up for the project.

The series, which will be filmed entirely in Buenos Aires, tells the story of Noa (Kirel), who, after months of a long-distance relationship, travels to Argentina to meet her boyfriend, but nothing will turn out as she thought. In this adventure, Noa meets Tomy (Bernasconi), a young man trying to reconcile with his past and forge a new life away from music, all while Noa begins a journey of discovery in search of her musical identity while dealing with the pressure of her parents and her new reality in Buenos Aires.

Season one is set to comprise 25 episodes.

NOA showrunners Alejandro Cacetta and Mili Roque Pitt join director Mauro Scandolari for the series. Also serving as executive producers are Yari Dori and colleagues Darío Werthein, Zeev Botvinik and Adrian Loureiro; for FAM Contenidos are Fernando Blanco, Alejandro Cacetta and Mili Roque Pitt; and, for Sipur, Emilio Schenker, Michael Peter Schmidt, Gideon Tadmor, Ariel Weisbrod and Orly Arbell.

Bernasconi said, “It is going to be a great experience to star in the series with Noa. She is an outstanding artist, and we complement each other very well.”

Fernando Blanco, co-founder of FAM Contenidos, said, “NOA is a project that gives us great enthusiasm. Continuing with our vast experience in international co-productions, the series invites us to continue providing our know-how to collaborations around the world, generating commercial and artistic alliances in content with high production value.”

Producer Yair Dori, who originated the series, said, “I am very proud to be part of this great project, which I believe will be a very solid performer worldwide.”

Sipur CEO Emilio Schenker said, “NOA marks the start of our co-financing and co-producing of great IP franchises globally. I can think of no better team or first project for us to invest in outside of Israel. It fits perfectly with our mandate to bring high-quality fiction, documentary and unscripted projects to the world through top-level strategic partnerships and the support of powerful investors.”
