Nickelodeon Unveils International Development Slate

LONDON/NEW YORK, February 7: Nickelodeon has partnered with
a range of animation producers from around the world to develop five projects
that will comprise Nickelodeon’s first-ever international development slate: Hiro, Oasis,
Bacon and Bunk, Super Charlie and Super Lauren and Noodles!

Created by Italy’s Alessandro Ferrari, the Japanese-inspired
Hiro consists of five, one-minute shorts
that follow the comical adventures of a naughty snowboarder desperate to get to
the bottom of the run without getting caught by the Ranger. Oasis, created by Tuba Entertainment in Korea and
co-produced by Nickelodeon, France’s TF1 and TeamTo, will consist of seven
one-minute shorts. Oasis is a
non-verbal animated series that follows the attempts of five squash and stretch
characters searching for their dream oasis in a desert. Oasis and Hiro
shorts, along with a fully scripted long-form series bible and pilot script,
will be completed prior to the long-form series order. When completed, the
shorts will be made available to Nickelodeon’s channels and broadcast partners
around the world.

Bacon and Bunk,
initially piloted out of Nickelodeon in the U.S., will be further developed by
Nickelodeon International with new concepts and storylines. Created by Luke
Brookshier and Debbie Cone and co-developed with Nickelodeon, YTV and TF1, the
series chronicles the story of two billy goats that share an apartment in a flophouse
shaped like a sardine can.

Nickelodeon has partnered with TV Loonland to further
develop the story and concept of Noodles! an
animated series that originated from a comic book and follows the lives of a
feisty young girl and her giant panda, Vietnamese potbellied pig, flightless
dragon and wannabe ninja monkey friends as they try and live life like everyday
kids.

Super Charlie and Super Lauren will be developed from an existing pilot with the U.K.’s Brothers
McLeod. The series features sibling rivalry and takes a unique look at the
relationship between a brother and a sister.

“Nick is really proud of this development slate as it
represents the voice and vision from creators around the globe and continues to
promote Nick International’s ongoing mission to find the kid voice lurking in
all of us,” commented Nina Hahn, the VP of development at Nickelodeon
International.
