Nick Jr. Gears Up for Blue’s Clues Spin-off Launch

NEW YORK, January 4: Blue’s
Room
, the live-action spin-off of
Nick Jr.’s long-running series Blue’s Clues, is slated for a multiplatform launch on January
24, offering its preschool viewers an “interactive play date.”

The 10-episode half-hour Blue’s
Room
takes preschoolers into an
interactive playroom featuring Joe (Donovan Patton), Blue and her baby brother
Sprinkles, who as puppets have the ability to talk directly to the viewers at
home. The series will air Fridays at 10 a.m., with new episodes airing weekly
through February 23.

“The Blue’s Room creators have shone their brilliant creative
brains on preschool literacy,” said Brown Johnson, the EVP and executive creative
director of Nickelodeon Preschool. “These beautiful, funny adventures to the
farm and fairytale castle are packed with play-along games that support early
reading and literacy skills in a whole new way.”

Nickelodeon is using all
of its digital platforms to support the linear TV launch. Episodes will be
available on Nick Jr. Video, the block’s broadband service. Subscribers of
Comcast, Charter, Cablevision, Verizon FiOS and Cox will be able to access the
show on demand. Mobile clips will also be available.
