NBC, Global Television to Simulcast New Comedy Series

TORONTO, April 18: Global
Television and NBC have struck a deal with Howie Mandel, host of the game show Deal
or No Deal
, for an unscripted
comedy series tentatively titled Howie Do It, which he will star in and produce, to simulcast
on both networks beginning in August 2009.

Filmed in Canada, the
series is from Mandel's production company, Alevy Production, in association
with 3 Arts. Mandel will executive produce alongside Scott Hallock (Scare
Tactics
), Kevin Healey (Spy TV), Morgan Elliot and Michael Rotenberg.

co-commissioning this project with NBC from Howie Mandel's production company,”
commented Barbara Williams, the executive VP of content for Canwest
Broadcasting. “Following the enormous success of Deal or No Deal Canada on Global last year and the continued appeal of
the original series Deal or No Deal,
we are excited to be the exclusive Canadian broadcasting partner for this brand
new series.”

signature humor,” said Craig Plestis, the executive VP of alternative programming, development and
specials for NBC Entertainment.
