MTV Renews Competition Dating Series

SANTA MONICA, January 3: MTV has greenlit a second season of
its breakout hit A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, with ten new episodes slated to roll out beginning this spring.

The season one finale delivered a 5.9 rating among the
12-to-34 set, becoming the highest-rated series telecast on MTV since August
2005, and was also the most-watched series telecast among total viewers aged 2
and older since November 2002. The series became MTV’s highest-rated new series
among viewers 12 to 34 for 2007, and was the number-one show in its time slot
(Tuesday 10-11 p.m.) for the same demographic across all of cable.

Sally Ann Salsano, founder and president of 495 Productions,
will serve as executive producer, with Joel Zimmer as co-executive producer for
the series. MTV executives overseeing production are Drew Tappon, David Gross
and Heather Olander. The deal was brokered by Brett Hansen at UTA. A Shot at
Love with Tila Tequila
is produced by 495
Productions, who will also produce MTV’s upcoming series That’s
Amore,
which will premiere in the first
quarter of this year and centers on Italian-born former contestant Domenico
Nesci as he too searches for love.

“Thanks to the creative talent and vision of Sally Ann
Salsano, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila
was one of our big breakout hits for 2007,” said Tony Disanto, MTV’s executive
VP of series development and programming. “We are now officially expanding our
relationship with Sally Ann and her team at 495 Productions and look forward to
her next slate of projects including, another Shot At Love, That’s Amore and more great, compelling TV for our viewers. We’re thrilled to be in
business with her.”
