MTG World Rebrands as Viasat World

STOCKHOLM: MTG World has been rebranded as Viasat World, which encompasses 27 pay-TV channels in 47 countries across Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS, Turkey, Africa, Israel and the U.S.

“Changing our corporate brand to Viasat World is a natural step in our evolution as an independent content provider,” said Irina Gofman, group president and CEO of Viasat World. “People all over the world enjoy our entertainment under the Viasat brands and the alignment of our corporate brand with our consumer brand will benefit both our business partners and our audiences by enabling us [to] communicate in a simpler way.”

Viasat World has been one of the leading entertainment channels and content providers since 2003, and has been an independent company since October 2015. Before that, it was a subsidiary of Modern Times Group.
