MIPCOM Unveils Into the Stream Keynote Speakers

PARIS: The lineup of keynote speakers for MIPCOM’s new conference program Into the Stream has been revealed, featuring executives from both the TV industry and the digital sphere.

The opening keynote, scheduled for October 5, will see BroadbandTV founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati join Jimmy Maymann, the president of consumer brands for AOL, to discuss their thoughts on the future of online consumption. Their talk will include ideas on evolving formats, distribution models, monetization, diversification and building whole ecosystems around content online. That same day, Fullscreen’s founder and CEO George Strompolos will share how his multichannel network rapidly evolved into a global media company.

On October 6, Discovery Networks International president JB Perrette will discuss how Discovery is tackling the future and redefining its business model 30 years on. The keynote for October 7 will see Nicola Mendelsohn, the VP for Facebook EMEA, share her vision for an immersive, visual-based digital world that makes communications easier and requires marketers and content creators to make sure they are keeping pace. Dermot McCormack, the president of video at AOL, will also argue that OTT will not devour traditional television, but instead evolve alongside it to create an even more engaging experience for viewers, creators and brands alike.

The Into the Stream roster will also include The Carriage Deal Forum: Channels Everywhere, an all-day program on October 6 focusing on territorial expansion tactics and featuring one-on-one meetings between platforms, OTT services and channels.
Then on October 7, the itinerary will offer The OTT & Global TV Strategy Summit, a thought-leadership event gathering OTT and global channel strategists to explore business topics that affect all international channel networks with a global footprint.
