TORONTO: Temple Street Productions has established a new distribution division and has appointed Jon Rutherford as president of distribution.

In his new role, Rutherford will run the distribution division with the goal of expanding content distribution globally and across all output platforms. He will report directly to John Young, the company’s managing director. The launch of the new division and the appointment of Rutherford mark the first steps in the previously announced strategy to expand content production, distribution operations and strategic acquisitions.

“Temple Street Productions is experiencing a tremendous period of growth and we are thrilled to bring aboard a dynamic executive like Jon with a deep knowledge of the industry,” said Young. “The new distribution business allows us to keep on strategy, bringing our high quality content to audiences around the world.”

“I am looking forward to joining David [Fortier, co-president], Ivan [Schneeberg, co-president], John and the stellar team at Temple Street Productions to oversee the company’s expansion into distribution,” Rutherford commented. “Temple Street has an eye for fresh, entertaining content and I am excited to introduce it to viewers across the globe.”

Rutherford joins Temple Street from Tricon Films & Television, where he served as executive VP of distribution and business development and oversaw the operation of Tricon’s international distribution company.
