Marvel Super Heroes Theme Park to Launch in UAE

DUBAI, April 21: Tatweer,
a member of Dubai Holding, has reached a deal with Marvel Entertainment in the
U.S. to develop a Super Heroes theme park in Dubai, featuring characters like Spider-Man,
the X-Men, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk.

The
new Super Heroes theme park will be a 4.5 million square feet development
located within Dubailand, a leisure, tourism and entertainment destination
located in Dubai. The design and conceptual master plan of the theme park has
recently been finalized, and the destination is expected to open in 2012.

Originally
announced last year as a partnership between the Al Ahli group and Marvel
Entertainment, Tatweer has now stepped in to oversee and take the Super Heroes
development forward.

Al Muntafiq, the executive chairman of Tatweer, said: "We are delighted to

creative concepts. The launch of the Marvel Super Heroes theme park in Dubai

The
3 billion square feet Dubailand, a member of Tatweer, comprises projects from
DreamWorks Animation, Six Flags and HIT Entertainment, among others.
