Leclere to Leave International Academy

NEW YORK, November 14:
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the
departure of Georges Leclere, senior VP for international outreach.
Leclere will leave his position at the end of the year and will be available as
a consultant to the Academy. He will be nominated for election as an Academy
Fellow at the November 20th board meeting.
“We are thankful for Georges’ many years of dedicated service,” say Academy
president and CEO Bruce Paisner and Academy chairman Fred Cohen.
Leclere joined the Academy as executive director in 1998. Prior to that he was
head of television at The United Nations in New York for seven years. He also
spent 15 years as a journalist and news anchor on French television networks
ORTF, Antenne 2 and FR3.
“It has been a pleasure for me to work with Georges these past three years and
I look forward to calling upon his special expertise in the future,” says
Camille Bidermann-Roizen, the senior VP and executive director of the Academy.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is the largest
organization of global broadcasters, with members from nearly 70 countries and
over 400 companies. The Academy was chartered with a mission to recognize
excellence in television programming produced outside of the United States, and
it presents the International Emmy Award to programs in 11 categories.

The International Emmy World Television Festival, to be held November 18 and
19, will feature screenings, panels and presentations from around the world.
The International Emmy Awards Gala will be held November 20 in New York.
