Mercury Media and Aggregator Hire Head of Acquisitions

LONDON, November 14:
Mercury Media and Aggregator Limited have appointed Ben Ross as head of
acquisitions for their new co-venture broadband documentary channel
joiningthedots.tv.

joiningthedots.tv will offer a wide range of factual programming,
including current affairs, history, observational, polemic, arts, nature and
science, as well as providing non-partisan forums and a portal for
user-generated factual content.

Ross previously worked at TVF International, where he headed the
acquisitions team. “Ben has proven acquisition skills, however it was his
understanding of web-based TV that really impressed us,” says Tim Sparke, the
managing director of MercuryMedia. Ross will oversee the content and design of
the joiningthedots.tv, set to launch in February 2007 with over 100 titles.

“With so much of today’s network factual output taken up with innocuous
‘human interest’ stories and reality TV, I see there being a huge gap in the
market, with a passionate, information-hungry audience ready to snap up the
right offering,” added Ross. “joiningthedots.tv is just that offering,
combining Mercury’s well-established reputation for the most interesting
documentary programming with Aggregator’s next-generation content delivery into
a rebellious, thought-provoking and passionate outlet that is made for
documentary lovers by documentary professionals.”
