Jolly Rabbit Scores British, Australian Pickups

NEW YORK, October 24:
Animation Collective has clinched sales for its new animated comedy Jolly
Rabbit
to air on CBBC in the U.K.
and ABC TV in Australia.

The 52×11-minute series
was also recently acquired by Canal+ Family in France. The preteen property
follows the adventures of a rabbit as he navigates the seas with his band of
punk-rock buddies in search of his missing leg. As part of its multiplatform
strategy, the series will be accompanied by an interactive website that
features games, activities and exclusive content. Music will also be a key
component, with videos, albums and individual tracks available through online
retailers and other platforms.

Jesse Cleverly, the head
of CBBC drama co-productions, said “We’re thrilled to be setting sail once more
with Animation Collective and their latest rocktastic pirate creation, it's a
perfect fit with CBBC's cheeky infectious brand, and further evidence of that
this brilliantly talented studio has their finger on the audience pulse."

“This show is incredibly
fun to make and we are so proud to have such premier broadcasters involved,”
added Larry
Schwarz, the CEO of Animation Collective and creator of the series. “We’re so excited that kids in the U.K. and
Australia are going to be able to take part in Jolly’s wild adventures.”

Jolly Rabbit is truly one of those properties that immediately
grabs you,” commented Tim Brooke-Hunt, the head of children’s at ABC TV. “The
vibrant animation mixed with colorful and comedic story lines and characters
will appeal to children all over.”
