Icon Film Announces Online Download Deal in the U.K.

LONDON, August 31: Icon Film Distribution, the British arm
of Mel Gibson’s outfit Icon, has signed a deal with Arts Alliance Media (AAM) to
make its movies available on a download-to-rent basis in the U.K.

The titles will be available through LOVEFiLM
(www.lovefilm.com) and AOL (www.aol.co.uk).
LOVEFiLM, Europe’s leading online DVD rental service, will make Icon’s titles
available to all of its U.K. customers, and to more than 2.2 million AOL U.K.
customers.

Under the agreement, Arts Alliance Media will have rights to
digitally distribute many of Icon’s new and back catalogue titles, including Match
Point, What Women Want, Rock School, Dogville, We
Were Soldiers, Starter for Ten and The Notorious Bettie Page.
