Hong Kong, Singapore Producers Collaborate on Mandarin Action Thriller

SINGAPORE, November 29: Production is set to begin in the middle
of next year on Rule Number One, a
Mandarin-language action feature film that is a collaboration between Hong
Kong’s Fortune Star Entertainment and Singapore’s Innoform Media, a video and
movie distributor, Boku Films, a production outfit, and the Media Development
Authority.

Written and directed by Singaporean director Kelvin Tong,
whose credits include The Maid and
Love Story, the film centers around five
phone calls received by detectives that begin with, “There’s something strange
in my house…” It is set to air on the Star Chinese Movies channel.

The MDA and Fortune Star will fund the feature in
partnership with Innoform and Boku Films. Fortune Star will handle worldwide
distribution, working with Innoform to release the title in Singapore and
Malaysia.
