First Hand Films Teams With BBC on America in Primetime

CANNES: First Hand Films has inked a deal with the BBC to produce the international version of the documentary series America in Primetime, which is currently in production in the U.S.

The 4×52-minute series, which is produced by The Documentary Group in the U.S., focuses on prime-time entertainment TV in the past and present, exploring the evolution of character types, genres, personalities and more. Under the First Hand Films and BBC agreement, the series is scheduled to air on BBC2 in 2012.
 
Carol Sennett, the executive producer of acquisitions for BBC, commented: “We are very excited to be working with First Hand Films and producer Tom Yellin from The Documentary Group on this entertaining project.”
