ESS Lines Up Syndication Partners for Cricket Tournament

SINGAPORE: ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has signed up a number of global syndication partners to showcase the Nokia Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament in more than 174 territories worldwide.

The tournament will be televised in a record 18 different international languages, including English, French, Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian, Hindi and Turkish. ESS has lined up specialist commentary teams for all 29 matches to be played across Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. This year’s event features for the first time a six-team qualifier that will determine the final three participants in the group stage. The qualifiers will be played in Hyderabad from September 19 to 21, while the final ten-team Nokia Champions League Twenty20 starts in Bengaluru on September 23 and ends with the final on October 9 in Chennai.

The third edition of Nokia Champions League Twenty20 will feature more than 100 players with top international experience across 13 teams, including MS Dhoni (India), Sachin Tendulkar (India), Virat Kohli (India), Suresh Raina (India), Munaf Patel (India), Daniel Vettori (NZ), Chris Gayle (West Indies), Kieron Pollard (West Indies), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Mike Hussey (Australia) and Shane Watson (Australia).

ESPN STAR Sports will also feature Bollywood legend and superstar Shahrukh Khan as the face of the tournament.
