DIC Appoints Bloomgarden EVP, Global Sales

BURBANK, September 13: DIC
Entertainment has appointed Kirk Bloomgarden to the position of executive VP of
global sales, effective January 1, 2008.

Based out of DIC’s
headquarters in Burbank, California, Bloomgarden will report to Jeffrey Edell,
the president of DIC, as well as work closely on overall company strategy with
Andy Heyward, the chairman and CEO of DIC. In his new position, Bloomgarden
will play an integral role in overseeing the management of current brands such
as Strawberry Shortcake, McDonald’s,
Dino Squad
, Horseland, Cake, Mommy & Me and Madeline. He will collaborate with executives from each division, in addition
to third-party partners, rights holders and licensees, to manage each of DIC’s
brands as a whole business and to oversee the implementation of strategic brand
plans.

Bloomgarden, a 15-year
veteran at Copyright Promotions, has served as CEO of the company since 2000.
There, he worked to build it into a one-stop, pan-European licensing shop for
licensors, where he oversaw the management of brands like Care Bears,
Peanuts
, Pink Panther, Shrek,
Spider-Man
, Strawberry
Shortcake
, The F.A., The Simpsons and WWE. In 2001, he
led the management buyout from Integrated Sports Media & Marketing, and in
2006, he also orchestrated the sale to DIC.
