DC Thomson’s Tim Collins Steps Down

LONDON: Tim Collins is set to leave his post as head of brands at DC Thomson, a role he has occupied since November 2009.

During his time at DC Thomson, Collins has been influential in the company’s brand development strategies. He has revived The Beano brand, leveraging the exposure of the BAFTA Award nominated CBBC show Dennis the Menace and Gnasher and establishing fashion partnerships with ASOS and Dr Martens to target both kids and adult fans. These efforts were recognized with three consecutive Licensing Award wins. He also initiated new projects, including a Bananaman live-action film, stage musicals for The Beano and Bananaman and various partnerships with firms such as Penguin Random House, The Southbank Centre, St Pancras International and INTU.

In addition, Collins led the development of the first consumer products program for The Broons, among other accomplishments.
