Lionsgate’s Jim Packer & Hulu’s Mike Hopkins to Keynote at MIPCOM

PARIS: Jim Packer, the president of worldwide television and digital distribution at Lionsgate, is set to join Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins for an opening-day keynote at this year’s MIPCOM.

Structured as a fireside chat, the conversation will cover Hulu’s rapid growth in the U.S., the changing distribution landscape for digital programs in the U.S., the future of television and the continued evolution of content. The event is scheduled for October 5 in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals, and will be part of the official MIPCOM 2015 conference program, A New Creative Excellence.

Packer is a 25-year entertainment industry veteran. As head of Lionsgate’s global television distribution operations and architect of many of its digital initiatives, he directs the company’s strategies for capitalizing on evolving distribution opportunities in a fast-changing marketplace. He also spearheads a rollout of streaming platforms around the world. Hopkins, meanwhile, has 20 years of video experience and has served as president of distribution for Fox Networks.
