Corus Presents 06/07 Kids’ Slate

TORONTO, July 18: Corus Entertainment’s 2006/07 kids’
programming slate includes a rebranded Saturday-morning lineup at YTV, the
company announced today.

YTV, sister network Treehouse
and Discovery Kids Canada will be rolling out 20 new series in the 06/07
season, together with 26 returning shows. "With the launch of 20 new shows
this fall, Corus Kids television delivers an unparalleled lineup of
entertainment that will satisfy kids of all ages,” said Phil Piazza, the VP of
programming at Corus Kids Television. “And to give kids and their families even
more choice and options, many of our series will be available on a number of
platforms. Whether it's on-air, online, on mobile or on-demand, we are
committed to being everywhere our audience is."

The new comedy-driven, hosted
YTV Saturday-morning schedule includes the returning productions Captain
Flamingo
, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom, as well as the new productions Viva
Pinata
, The Far Out Adventures of
Team Galaxy
and Shuriken School.

Also joining the YTV fall
schedule are the original Canadian productions Erky Perky, an animated series about two bugs and their quest
for food; the family game show Game Gurus and Weird Years, among
others. For its evening schedule, in an effort to promote family co-viewing,
YTV picked up the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle and Nickelodeon's Fatherhood, based on Bill Cosby's book chronicling the
challenges of family life.

Two new series are joining The
Zone
, YTV’s after-school slot: Robotboy and Viva Pinata. There will also be new additions to the feature-film blocks 3
Hairy Thumbs Up
, broadcast every Saturday
and Sunday at 4 p.m.; Saturday Night Movies, for older viewers at 9 p.m. on Saturday nights; and
the hosted movie block ZAPX every
Sunday night at 6 p.m. The anime programming block Bionix returns to Friday nights at 9 p.m. with a lineup
that includes Bleach, Eureka
Seven
and Invader Zim.

At Treehouse, for preschool
viewers, a new addition is This is Emily Yeung, a follow-up series to the award-winning This is Daniel Cook. It rolls out on mobile television, VOD and the
digital video storefront TreehouseDirect.com in advance of the television
launch. Also joining the Treehouse schedule this fall is Nickelodeon's The
Wonder Pets
, an animated series that
introduces children to music and humor; as well as Roll Play and Boblins.
