Corus Posts Q1 Gains

TORONTO, January 10: Driven by gains in its broadcasting
division, Corus Entertainment has posted a 7-percent rise in revenues, to
C$209.2 million, and a 17 percent increase in net profit to C$36.7 million.

"The positive momentum of last year has continued in
our first quarter results in terms of both ratings and revenues," said
John Cassaday, the president and CEO of Corus Entertainment. "Strong
advertising and subscription growth from specialty television and solid
national advertising sales in radio were the major contributors to our positive
results."

Corus Television contributed quarterly revenues of C$122.6
million, up 10 percent, led by continued specialty advertising growth of 13
percent and subscriber growth of 11 percent. Quarterly segment profit increased
15 percent to C$60.5 million.

Corus Content revenues were C$11.7 million, down 10 percent,
and segment profit was C$1.0 million, compared to break even last year.
