Cineflix Rights Bringing Diverse Slate to MIPCOM

Cineflix Rights is heading to MIPCOM with a varied slate across scripted and factual, with The Walsh Sisters leading its highlights.

The Walsh Sisters is based on the best-selling novels by Marian Keyes, and it follows five Irish sisters bound by love, history and a tendency for self-doubt. It is produced by Cuba Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures.

The drama slate also features HILDUR, a Nordic crime thriller based on Satu Rämö books, and Sunny Nights, an Australian crime drama in which two Americans set up a spray tan business in Sydney.

Cineflix Rights’ factual offering includes A New Life in the Sun: Win a B&B, in which couples compete for the keys to a bed-and-breakfast property in the French countryside; Top of the Block, seeing three design-savvy families open their doors to a panel of their peers; and Kobe: The Making of a Legend, exploring the life and legacy of the American icon.

Additional factual programs are Rookie Truckers, following eager yet naive drivers as they take on the unforgiving Australian roads for the first time, and Recording Evil, based on the British Army’s secret recordings of Nazi soldiers and officers held as prisoners of war.

In the true-crime genre, highlights include Billionaire Boys Club, about a gang of 25-year-old finance bros who set out to kidnap, rob and kill affluent targets in Los Angeles; Most Likely to Murder, exploring what happens when the most popular students in class turn out to be killers; Don’t Open the Door, delving into tales of unsuspecting individuals whose lives are altered when a stranger knocks on their door; and Kill/Switch, revealing how cunning modern criminals take their crime to a new level, killing their victims and assuming their personas.
