Chinese Mainland Takes Top Honors at 2025 AACAs

At the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards, Chinese Mainland took home the prizes for best drama series and best feature film for Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To The West and MuMu, respectively.

Japan and Singapore took home six awards each, while Korea and India nabbed five each. Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong both received four awards. Taiwan won three categories; Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines each won two; and Thailand received one.

The best children’s program award went to Korea’s Super Guardians: Polar Rescue. Best animation was awarded to Japan’s My Melody & Kuromi.

Singapore’s Addicted—The Synthetic Curse took home the prize for best documentary series, while Australia’s Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story won best one-off documentary program and Japan’s Hiroshima’s Tower of Life won best history documentary.

Best game or quiz program went to Malaysia’s SME S.W.A.T. India’s adaptation of The Traitors received the award for best adaptation of an existing non-scripted format, and its host, Karan Johar, was awarded best entertainment host.

In the performance categories, Singapore’s 9-year-old Ivory Chia became the youngest winning actress in AACA history after claiming the best actress in a supporting role award for Emerald Hill: The Little Nonya Story. Best actor in a supporting role went to Malaysia’s Hisyam Hamid for Memori.

For leading roles, best actor was given to the Philippines’ Dennis Trillo for Green Bones, and best actress went to Japan’s Yuriyan Retriever for The Queen of Villains.
