Chello Zone Takes NBCU Titles

CANNES, October 14: NBC Universal International Television
Distribution has licensed almost 1,000 hours of content to Chello Zone,
including 120-plus movies and 800 hours of reality programming.

The content acquired will air on Chello Zone’s branded
channels around the world.

The Hungarian and Polish feed of Zone Europa has bought more
than 80 NBC Universal titles, including the award-winning movies The
Hudsucker Proxy and the 1976 King
Kong. Zone Thriller has taken 15 movies,
among them Curiosity Kills and The
Ripper, for its U.K. feed. Zone Fantasy
opted for 32 movies, such as Jaws 2,
The Burbs and Play
Misty For Me. Zone Reality has taken 80
hours of programming, also for the U.K., including Proof Positive:
Evidence of the Paranormal and Crime
and Punishment. And Zone Club has acquired
over 800 hours of exclusive basic cable rights for its Polish and Hungarian
feeds for titles such as Jerry Springer, Starting Over and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
