CBS Names Ex-Paramount Exec for New Film Unit

NEW YORK, March 8: CBS Corporation has taken its first step
towards setting up a film unit, naming former Paramount Pictures executive VP
Bruce Tobey as COO of the CBS Feature Films division.

In addition to being charged with establishing the new unit,
Tobey will oversee the finance, legal, and business affairs teams. He will also
oversee home video distribution of the new film division’s releases. A CEO for
CBS Feature Films will be named in the coming months.

“I can’t think of a better first step in kick-starting CBS
Feature Films than by bringing Bruce on board,” said CBS Corporation’s
president and CEO, Leslie Moonves. “His significant operational experience and
sophisticated understanding of the entire movie industry will make him
instrumental in getting this enterprise started.”

Tobey was at Paramount as EVP from 2001 to 2005. Until June
2004, he was also VP of the Viacom Entertainment Group, which included
television production and distribution and consumer products, among other
businesses. Since leaving Paramount Pictures a year ago, Tobey has been consulting
for a variety of companies and individuals in the feature film, television and
new media areas.
