BBC Worldwide Seals Globo Output Deal

NEW YORK: BBC Worldwide has signed a three-year output deal with Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo covering a range of programming from the company’s catalogue.

The new first-look agreement, which runs until 2012, follows BBC Worldwide’s first three-year output deal with the broadcaster, which was signed in 2006. "The partnership with the BBC only reinforces our concern to broadcast quality content in Brazil," said Roberto Buzzoni, Globo’s director general of programming.

Matt Forde, the executive VP of sales and co-productions at BBC Worldwide, Americas, added: "The quality and depth of our catalogue, combined with the strength of our relationship with Globo, paved the way for us to secure this new output deal with Brazil’s largest broadcaster. We look forward to unveiling much more of our unrivalled catalogue to audiences in Brazil as a result of this agreement."
