Dineley Assumes Digital Media Role at Power

LONDON,
November 27: Power has appointed Mark Dineley, its VP of international media
sales, as the company’s first VP of digital media.

In his new
enhanced role, Dineley will create a global digital strategy for Power’s
international drama content across new and emerging platforms and identify how
best to exploit new media revenues. In addition to VOD platforms on the digital
terrestrial and cable networks, he will explore IPTV, Internet, PC and mobile
opportunities.

Dineley will
also continue to oversee advertiser-funded acquisition deals across all
international territories, and will now seek ways to adapt them for digital-media
business models.

“New on-demand
platforms offer us a multitude of opportunities going forward,” said Dineley.
“My role will be to lead the exploratory process as to how we can best exploit
content rights and generate new revenues out of new media rights.”

“No other
independent in high-end television drama has a slate to compare with the scale
and ambition of Power’s so the potential for us in this emerging market is
huge,” he added.

Commenting on
the appointment, Chris Philip, the worldwide president of sales, said: “This
fast evolving digital marketplace will naturally require the development of new
business models and there is no better person than Mark to spearhead that
process.”
