BBC Worldwide Bolsters MIPCOM Catalogue

LONDON, September 25: BBC Worldwide has added two new
dramas, The Whistleblowers and Mistresses,
to its lineup for MIPCOM, which currently
includes literary adaptations, comedies and children’s properties, among
others.

The ethical thriller The Whistleblowers examines the corruption within business and politics.
Filmed in high definition, this new drama sees ex-lawyers Ben Graham and Alisha
Cole fight to expose the truth behind the façade.

the clandestine lifestyle of “the other woman.” The six-part series follows the
love lives of four thirty-something friends, who are each embarking on their own
emotional rollercoaster.

Based on the novels by Elizabeth Gaskell, Cranford features Dame Judi Dench leading a stellar cast to

For history fare, BBC Worldwide will be presenting Warriors, a dramatization of the lives of six leading
historical figures whose actions changed the course of history. The six-part
series examines Spartacus, Richard the Lionheart, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Napoleon,
Hernan Cortes and Attila the Hun.

In the comedy genre, Gavin and Stacey follows the trials and tribulations of a young couple
as they embark on a whirlwind romance, which is plagued with misunderstandings,
white lies and interfering in-laws.

The documentary Seven Ages of Rock focuses on all eras of rock music, featuring some of
the world’s greatest rock legends including The Rolling Stones, U2, Oasis and
Pink Floyd.

Two TV icons returning to the screen with new series are Sir
David Attenborough and Michael Palin. Palin embarks on a journey across Eastern
Europe in Michael Palin’s New Europe,
while Attenborough explores the oldest living creatures on the planet in Life
in Cold Blood
.

additions with Tommy Zoom, an animated
series with elements of live action which follows Tommy and his dog as they
solve everyday problems, and Underground Ernie, a CGI animation which looks at the hardships of
Ernie, a controller of International Underground, and the trains in his care.
