BBC Global Channels Grows India Team

MUMBAI, February 27: In
order to strengthen its global channels business in South Asia, BBC Worldwide
has made three new appointments to its India team.

Jasdeep Pannu has been
named the director of programming, and will be responsible for all aspects of
programming and scheduling for the channels in South Asia. He joined the Mumbai
team in January, and has more than ten years of television production experience.
He most recently served as head of programming for Discovery Channel and Animal
Planet in India.

As the director of
marketing and communications, Shaalu Wadhwa will implement the marketing and
communications strategy for BBC Worldwide’s new channels in India. Wadhwa will
begin her role this month, arriving from Nickelodeon India, where she served as
marketing director.

Abhijeet Deolekar joins
BBC Worldwide's channels operations in India as the creative director. He will
be building on-air strategies and branding for the new BBC-branded channels in
India. Prior to joining BBC Worldwide, Abhijeet was a key member of the on-air
promotions team that launched Zoom, India's first glamour and lifestyle
channel.
