BBC Entertainment and Events Production Bolsters In-House Team

LONDON, November 13: Four
new roles are being added to BBC Entertainment and Events Production's in-house
team, aimed to help bring production and development departments closer
together in a push for more commissions.

Martin
Scott has been appointed head of format entertainment and will be responsible
for both developing new programs and for continuing to deliver high-profile and
high-quality formats.

Clare
Pizey will serve as head of factual entertainment. Pizey will be developing new
areas of interest across all channels, alongside current titles, including The Restaurant and Sport Relief.

Helen
Bullough has been named head of entertainment production for Manchester.
Bullough will be responsible for all format and factual entertainment from Manchester,
including Dragons' Den, Last Millionaire and Mastermind.

In the newly created role
of executive
editor of entertainment and multimedia, Mark Cossey will work across the entire
entertainment and events slate looking at opportunities to exploit existing
programming and develop new multimedia programming.

Nick
Vaughan-Barratt will continue as head of events production, and Caroline Wright
remains in her role as executive editor of entertainment.

Jon
Beazley, the controller of BBC Entertainment and Events Production, said:
"This is a defining moment for Entertainment Production and Development.
As the programming slate is constantly growing, the need to look after both
production and development becomes even more marked. I'm looking forward to working
with all the department heads in their new capacities in a structure that
properly reflects their role and responsibilities for the future."
