JAKKS Pacific Secures Master Toy Licensing Deal for Shushybye

MALIBU, May 14: JAKKS Pacific has secured a worldwide master
toy licensing agreement for the infant and preschool sleep-themed entertainment
brand Shushybye.

In addition to toys and plush products that will be rolling
out from the new agreement, Shushybye has
also secured licensing deals with St. Martin’s Press for bedtime storybooks,
Adorable Kids, Inc for sleepwear, KOCH Records for music CDs that will feature
original sleep-themed rock songs and lullabies performed by The Shushybye Dream
Band, and with WGBH Boston Video for DVDs.

Shushybye Baby will
premiere on BabyFirstTV—the 24-hour commercial free network targeted at
babies and toddlers—on May 28, where the program will air twice daily. The
Shushybye Show On XM KiDS
currently airs
daily on XM Satellite Radio’s XM KiDS and Shushybye video-on-demand programming is available on Comcast
and ReelTime.com.

Created by Steve Syatt, Shushybye is designed to encourage children to look forward to
sleep and help serve as part of the important parent-child bedtime ritual. The
series follows the adventures of the Shushies who make dreams for children that
are sent to them as they fall asleep. Living in such Shushybye villages as Nap Valley, Snore Shore, Yawn Island and
Slumber Heights, the Shushies—led by Snoozles, Dozie, and Zeez—place their dreams in Dream Boxes that are sent to sleeping children
via the Shushybye Train driven by Conductor McCloud.

Shushybye is an
original and imaginative brand that is attracting industry, media and consumer
attention,” said Tamre Logan, the senior VP of marketing, preschool and
activities for JAKKS Pacific. “Thoughtfully developed to encompass play
opportunities for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, Shushybye also appeals to parents with its unique message
encouraging children to look forward to bedtime. We look forward to bringing Shushybye toys to market as part of our growing Child Guidance
brand, and expect to begin with a line of plush toys at retailers supporting
the property.”
