ORF-Enterprise has landed a number of deals from its catalog of Austrian crime titles, including selling a package to Discovery Italia for the free-to-air channel Giallo.

Giallo secured the rights for 17 episodes from ORF’s award-winning crime movie strand Scene of the Crime. IRIB in Iran signed up for a package of more than ten hours from the weekly crime strand, while Swiss public broadcaster SRF picked up the brand-new episode “Virus.”

Volume deals were inked in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. RCS and RDS (Romania) and Uzbekistan’s public broadcaster acquired 100-plus hours each from ORF-Enterprise’s factual catalog. IRIB went for more than 40 hours of documentaries and ORF’s latest crime movies from both strands Scene of the Crime and Backwoods Crimes.

Vanishing Kings II will soon air on Al Jazeera Documentary Channel as part of a 10-hour package, which also included the wildlife docs Lionsrock, Vanishing Kings I, Garden Wild, Wild Istanbul and Oetscher: The Gentle Giant. The blue-chip documentary High Life at Low Temperature has now been picked up by ARTE (France) together with Stars and Stripes. John Murray’s Jackson Hole nominee Wild Ireland will soon air on RTBF (Belgium).

Deutsche Welle acquired several current-affairs documentaries from ORF’s weekly World Journal slot. The German station also confirmed the broadcast of the annual musical event Christmas in Vienna, which has been picked up by SPR (Mexico) and KTO (France) as well.
