Asian Sales for Cineflix

LONDON: Cineflix International Distribution has scored a range of deals across Asia, with China, Japan and India all signing up for content in recent months.

Python Hunters is headed to China, along with Animal Mega Moves, which have been picked up by LIC. The Cup Cake Girls is going to India on Real Global Broadcasting’s Real entertainment channel. National Geographic Channel India opted for four seasons of Paradise Lost.

In Japan, SFINX went for Extreme Poodles. The show is also set for Nippon TV’s family show World’s Great TV, which recently bagged two other Cineflix titles: Air Ways and Mayday. The "Shoot Out in Marseille" episode of Zero Hour is also headed to Japan, via Formulation TV for TV Asahi.

Korea also will see some Cineflix content hitting the air. CJ Media acquired Family Food Challenge and HomeStory TV bought the first three seasons of For Rent, the Canadian and U.K. versions of The UNsellables and Kim’s Rude Awakenings. Kim’s Rude Awakenings scored a further pickup in Malaysia, where a second season is headed for ntv7. Other Malaysian sales include the first season of For Rent going to Li TV.

Additional Asian deals include Singapore’s Asian Food Channel acquiring Conviction Kitchen, The Cup Cake Girls, Dinner Party Wars and The Opener. Hong Kong’s TVB and now TV bought How Machines Work and Inside the Box, respectively.

Chris Bluett, Cineflix International’s sales manager who brokered all the deals, said: "For years people have been saying that Asia is a growth market.
