Asian Companies Establish Entertainment and Culture Content Fund

CJ ENM Hong Kong, Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and TVBS Media have established the Entertainment and Culture Content Fund, a global initiative to foster cross-border content collaboration.

With a combined commitment of NT$960 million ($30 million) over five years, the fund will invest in IP exchange and Mandarin content creation, production, talent development and distribution of finished contents locally and internationally. It aims to elevate creative collaboration across Mandarin music, dramas, movies, reality and other content genres that can resonate with regional and global audiences.

The fund’s areas of focus are supporting formats that showcase local Taiwanese and Korean narratives and leveraging both countries’ media networks and platforms to reach broader audiences across Asia and beyond.

The alliance combines CJ ENM Hong Kong’s international production and distribution network, TAICCA’s local IP and industry knowledge, FET’s digital innovation and technology capabilities and TVBS’s broad media reach and production expertise.

“This fund embodies our belief that cross-border collaboration is the key to making Asian content global,” said Sean Cho, executive VP and head of the global business division at CJ ENM. “By connecting our production expertise with Taiwan’s creativity and innovation, we are setting the stage for the next generation of international hits from Asia.”

Li Yuan, Taiwan’s Minister of Culture, added, “We are really thrilled to be working with so many entertainment powerhouses and especially excited to have Korean entertainment powerhouse CJ ENM on board. We believe that the cross-border collaborations will push Asian content to a global scale.”
