Anime Network Inks Deal for Sci-Fi Adventure Series

HOUSTON,
August 17: Illumitoon Entertainment has licensed two new anime series, B’tx and AM Driver, to the VOD service Anime
Network, which will premiere the titles on September 6 and September 9,
respectively.

B’tx follows the adventures of Teppei,
who, while searching for his brother Kotaro, encounters a broken mechanical
insectoid-like weapon called B’tx. The unlikely pair develops a brotherly bond
and continues on their quest to save Kotaro.

The
series AM Driver
follows the story of a young group of warriors, known as AM Drivers, as they
battle a dominating empire of machines called the Bug-chine. These creatures
attack human beings and are unable to be defeated by normal human weapons, so
it is up to the AM Drivers and their “AM technology” to save the earth.

“These
two series really capture the essence of classic mecha anime, as both are
loaded with action, robots and sci-fi twists,” said Stacy Dodson, the director
of programming and operations for Anime Network, which reaches 41 million homes
in the U.S. “They will make a great complement to Anime Network’s VOD schedule,
and we’re pleased to work with Illumitoon in bringing them to our viewers.”
