Turner Launching New Channel in Germany

MUNICH, September 4: TNT
Serie, a pay-TV channel offering a range of hit comedy and drama series like 30
Rock
, Friday Night Lights and E.R., will launch in Germany on January 28, 2009, in Premiere Star’s
family package.

TNT Serie, Turner Broadcasting
System’s fourth pay-TV channel in the German-speaking territories, will air
shows such as Monk, King of
Queens
, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Without a Trace, Psych and Til Death.
Additional highlights include Nip/Tuck, Six Feet Under, Everybody
Loves Raymond
, Seinfeld and The Starter Wife. The programs will be broadcast in German as well
as in their original language. TNT Serie will initially air from 8:15 p.m. to 6
a.m., but is expected to be extended to a full 24-hour channel in 2009.

“TNT Serie is the channel for everybody who loves series,” said Hannes
Heyelmann, the head of Turner Entertainment in Germany. “We’re very happy to
reach that many viewers via the distribution in the Premiere Family Package
right from the start.”

Negotiations with further operators and IPTV platforms are ongoing.
