DIRECTV Announces Programming, Entertainment Promotions

EL SEGUNDO, March 8: DIRECTV has promoted Derek Chang to
executive VP of content strategy and development and Dan Hartman to senior VP
of programming acquisition.

In his new role, Chang will oversee all programming
strategy, development and acquisitions for the U.S. DIRECTV business, reporting
to Chase Carey, the president and CEO of DIRECTV. Chang was previously SVP of
strategy and development at DIRECTV, where he was responsible for developing
strategic business opportunities.

It was also announced today that Eric Shanks, the EVP of
entertainment, will now lead all of DIRECTV's entertainment efforts, reporting
directly to Carey. Together, Chang and Shanks will oversee the content,
programming operations and content strategy for DIRECTV.

In his new role, Hartman will assume day-to-day
responsibilities for interfacing with major programmers and negotiating
DIRECTV's core programming rights, reporting to Chang. Previously, Hartman, who
joined DIRECTV in 1998, was responsible for program acquisition activities for
all general entertainment and premium cable networks and was programming
liaison for DIRECTV's advanced products group.

These promotions come on the heels of other changes within
the company. David Hill, who was in a dual role as president of DIRECTV
Entertainment and chairman and CEO of Fox Sports, returns to Fox on a full-time
basis and Dan Fawcett, who is DIRECTV's EVP of programming acquisition and
business and legal affairs, leaves DIRECTV to take on a new position as
president of Fox Digital Media. Hartman will assume day-to-day responsibilities
for interfacing with major programmers and negotiating DIRECTV's core
programming rights.
