MIA Returns to Rome for 11th Edition

With attendance up 10 percent in 2024, MIA (Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo) is returning to Rome for its 11th edition, set for October 6 to 10.

Taking place at the Palazzo Barberini and Cinema Barberini, the event is backed by ANICA (Italian Association of Film, Audiovisual and Digital Industries), chaired by Alessandro Usai, and APA (Italian Audiovisual Producers Association), chaired by Chiara Sbarigia. Gaia Tridente continues to direct the event, which this year runs under the theme “All Stories Lead to MIA.”

Almost 500 projects from 81 countries were submitted for MIA’s Co-Production Market and Pitching Forum. Of these, 62 across animation, documentary, drama and film will be showcased.

A key highlight this year is the Book Adaptation Forum (BAF), supported by the Fondazione Roma Lazio Film Commission and Apollo Series, a new training initiative developed in partnership with Series Mania Institute and Goteborg Film Festival TV Drama Vision. There will also be a spotlight on short films, Vertical AI workshops curated by Largo.ai, organized with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA; and the Industry Insider Bootcamp, presented by United Talent Agency (UTA).
