Seth MacFarlane Signs Mega Deal with NBCUniversal

Seth MacFarlane has inked a multiyear television deal with the newly formed NBCUniversal Content Studios, marking the first overall mega talent agreement for the new banner.

MacFarlane was previously in an overall deal with 20th Century Fox Studios. The agreement will cover MacFarlane and his Fuzzy Door production company’s television activities for both internal and external networks, including NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, Peacock.

MacFarlane most recently starred in Showtime’s Golden Globe-nominated limited series The Loudest Voice, but he is perhaps best known for creating hit adult animated comedies such as Family Guy and American Dad! MacFarlane has been nominated for six Grammy Awards and has released five successful studio albums.

Currently, Fuzzy Door—which is headed up by Erica Huggins—produces the Hulu space adventure series The Orville; the beloved and Emmy Award-winning animated-comedy series Family Guy, celebrating its 20th anniversary; and the fan-favorite series American Dad!, gearing up for its 15th season.

NBCUniversal Content Studios—comprised of Universal Television, Universal Content Productions and NBCUniversal International Studios—is home to some of television’s most prolific voices, including Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, Mike Schur, Amy Poehler, Dick Wolf, Sam Esmail, Gareth Neame, Lorne Michaels, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and more.
