LOS ANGELES: The Independent Film & Television Alliance has confirmed that the American Film Market (AFM) will continue to be held at the Loews in Santa Monica in 2011 and 2012, though a move to the L.A. LIVE district may be in the works for 2013.

IFTA issued a statement saying that no deal has been made yet. The statement did say that relocating to L.A. LIVE would provide lower costs for sellers and buyers, better showcase opportunities and increased business efficiency. All theaters and screening rooms would be located within a five-minute walk from the market, and there will be more hotel rooms in the L.A. LIVE district than there are within miles of the Loews.

"The L.A. LIVE district will allow us to grow all segments of the AFM—market, conferences and the celebration of film—and make the AFM more inclusive for the entire motion picture industry," IFTA said.
