2014 International Emmy Awards Competition Now Open

NEW YORK: The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has officially kicked off the 2014 International Emmy Awards competition, which features a new category for non-English-language U.S. prime-time programs.

The category is open to any prime-time program produced by a U.S. company or aired first in the U.S. that is in a language that is 50 percent or more other than English. This includes dramas, comedies and telenovelas, as well as unscripted reality, variety and game shows. Prime time is defined here as any time between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Deadline for entries is February 17, 2014.
