Scorpion TV has acquired distribution rights for Landmarks Live in Concert, a live-music docu-travel series produced by City Drive Group, and the company has landed a number of deals for the doc Musicwood.

The representation deal gives Scorpion TV exclusive worldwide rights, excluding the U.S., for season one of Landmarks Live in Concert. The 7×1-hour series features world-famous bands performing in iconic venues. The show is hosted by Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

In other music-programming news, Scorpion TV has landed sales for Musicwood, a one-hour documentary produced by Helpman Productions. Deals have been closed with AMC EMEA, Russia Today, Foxtel Australia, Sky New Zealand and several airlines. Maxine Trump’s documentary chronicles the efforts of three of the world’s most famous guitar-makers in the world: Bob Taylor, Chris Martin and Dave Berryman.

Scorpion TV also secured deals for Arab Rap, a one-off special by ORBI XXI Production about hip-hop culture in the Middle East. UR in Sweden, Noga in Israel, TVP in Poland and Content Line in Spain acquired the title.

David Cornwall, founder and managing director of Scorpion TV, said: “We will celebrate 10 years of independent distribution next year. In less than a decade, we’ve built a solid business from scratch by unearthing gems that address buyer’s needs and find new audiences for talented filmmakers. Landmarks Live in Concert, Musicwood and Arab Rap are all great examples of our approach. They blend seminal performances by world-class musicians with history, culture and most, importantly, humanity.”
