LOS ANGELES: GRB Entertainment has snapped up the film, TV and digital/OTT rights for the New York Times best-selling book Archaeology of the Bible, penned by Jean-Pierre Isbouts.

Archaeology of the Bible, published by Nat Geo Books, looks at significant archaeological discoveries linked to stories from the Bible. The book spotlights the ongoing excavation of Magdala, the town of Mary Magdalene, and Herod’s palace in Jerusalem, where scholars believe Jesus was tried by Pontius Pilate. This is the second Isbouts book to be optioned by GRB, with the first being The Story of Christianity, which is currently in development as a 12-part series.

Gary R. Benz, GRB’s president and CEO, commented: “Mining the incredible storytelling and scholarly analysis of Jean-Pierre’s work on Christianity and the Bible gives us the opportunity to bring history to life in compelling and comprehensive ways. This project exemplifies what GRB is all about—creating powerful and fascinating content that engages viewers of all backgrounds, creeds and points of view.”
