Endemol Names Brand Relations Director

AMSTERDAM/LONDON: Endemol has chosen Ingrid Akkerman to fill the newly created post of director of brand relations, effective immediately.

In her new role, Akkerman will work under Branco Scherer, the company's executive director of commercial affairs. Her duties include collaborating with Endemol's commercial teams on launching local brand partnerships internationally and supervising multi-territory agreements. She will also be expected to handle sponsorship, product placement and brand integration spanning TV, mobile, social media and online content.

Akkerman was first hired by Endemol in 2002. She previously served as the senior manager of format distribution.

Scherer noted: "Ingrid's appointment is a reflection of the increasing significance of brand relations for our business as a global content creator for all platforms. She has an outstanding track record of leveraging global entertainment brands and I'm delighted she's agreed to take on this role."
