Stars Set to Grace the Palais

PARIS: Among the star talent headed to Cannes are Julian Fellowes, Elle Macpherson and documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock.

Jean Reno and René Balcer will be on hand to promote the new series Le Grand, presented by Atlantique Productions in partnership with TF1 and distributor SevenOne International. Geraldine Somerville (Harry Potter, Gosford Park), Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Glen Blackhill (Jump, Echoes) will be promoting the ITV Studios Global Entertainment mini-series Titanic. The cast members will be joined by Titanic scriptwriter Julian Fellowes and producers Chris Thompson and Simon Vaughan.

Frank Potente (Jason Bourne films), Tom Weston-Jones (MI-5) and executive producer Christina Wayne (Mad Men) will attend on behalf of the Cineflix Studios crime series Copper. Former top-model Elle Macpherson, host of the new Electus TV show Fashion Star, is attending the market. As are Deena Nicole Cortese and Vinny Guadagnino, stars of the hit MTV series Jersey Shore.

From the series Femme Fatales, distributed by Entertainment One, cast members Nikki Griffin (Fast & Furious III, Dukes of Hazard), Tiffany Brouwer (The Help), Christine Donlon, Madison Dylan, Shani Pride and Catherine Annette will attend MIPTV, joined by co-creators and executive producers Mark A. Altman (Castle, Necessary Roughness) and Steve Kriozere (N.C.I.S., V.I.P.).

The Oscar-winning producer Iain Canning (The King’s Speech, Shame) will take part in the MIPTV Drama CoProXchange program and present his upcoming drama Top of The Lake, with a cast including Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Holly Hunter (The Piano), Peter Mullan (War Horse) and directed by Oscar-winner Jane Campion (The Piano, The Portrait of a Lady). Also taking part in the MIPTV Drama CoProXchange program, BAFTA Award-winning British TV writer and producer Paul Abbott (Shameless, State of Play) will present his new project Hit and Miss, with Chloë Sevigny (Big Love, Boys Don’t Cry).

The chef and TV host Chuck Hughes is coming to Cannes with Beyond Distribution to present his new programs Chuck’s Week Off: Mexico and Chuckmas. The documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) will host a special lunch on April 1 with FremantleMedia Enterprises. Panini Media is bringing XII Tribes Entertainment’s new drama series Signs to MIPTV, presented by actress Ysé Brisson and producer Michel Zgarka. Miss World 2011 Ivian Sarcos is also set to attend.
