American Idol Heads to Canada’s CTV Two

American Idol is headed to CTV Two’s mid-season schedule through a deal with FremantleMedia International.

The new season of American Idol will air on CTV Two on Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m., starting March 11. CTV Two is also adding Gotham and MasterChef Junior to its lineup. These titles join the midseason comedies Living Biblically and Splitting Up Together.

American Idol is a historic franchise,” said Mike Cosentino, the president of content and programming at CTV. “We are looking forward to reintroducing the series and its star-studded judging panel to Canadians as a new anchor for CTV Two.”

“We’re excited to be working with Bell Media to bring the new season of the original singing competition to Canada,” said Michela Di Mondo, the senior VP of sales and distribution at FremantleMedia International, Canada. “American Idol is an iconic series which has entertained families across Canada for years and we look forward to doing it again.”
